Botox Lip Flip

What is a lip flip? What does the treatment involve?

The anti-ageing lip flip is a non-surgical procedure that makes your lips look fuller. The muscle-relaxant protein (BOTOX) is injected into the borders of the lips (vermilion border).

Botox relaxes the muscles around the lips, causing the upper lip to “flip” upwards and the lower lip downwards (eversion), making them look fuller.

What Is the Difference Between a Lip Flip and Lip Fillers?

The lip flip and lip fillers are both procedures that make your lips look fuller.

Lip fillers are a type of hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler that is injected into one or both lips to increase volume. The effect is immediately visible after the procedure.

In the lip flip treatment, by contrast, Botox is injected at precise points of the upper and/or lower lip. Only after about a week do the injections make the lip look fuller, without adding any volume to it.

Botox lip flips generally look more natural than lip fillers.

Who Is the Treatment For?

The treatment is suitable for patients who:

  • want their lips to look bigger but do not want to increase lip volume or change their shape;
  • want to avoid the risk of swelling and bruising associated with fillers;
  • want to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Why a Lip Flip?

This technique will not stop the ageing process or change the shape of the lips, but it makes them look fuller without adding volume.

How Long Does the Effect Last?

The effect generally lasts from two to five months.
